An addition to a 1952 rambler. A two-story “bar” containing bedrooms above and kitchen below was added to the western edge of the house. The kitchen is located at the hinge between the old and new, and functions as the center of life for the house. The new floor structure is comprised of 2x6 cardecking on 4x10 girders, all exposed to the kitchen below.
